Where do you get your music from?
I used to be a fan of Napster (the paid service, not the other one). However since going the way of the penguin, I've hit a stumbling block. Napster doesn't run on Linux, and I can forget about trying to play anything with DRM.
I'm considering going back to getting everything on CD and ripping it myself, but I can't help but think I've missed another option.
How do you get yours?

I preview on eMule, then buy CDs, usually from Amazon, but sometimes using find-cd.co.uk
I guess this doesn't _really_ help your particular quandry, but I thought I'd give my answer anyway.
Isn't iTunes experimenting with plain non-DRM music nowadays?
iTunes are experimenting with DRM free, but they don't offer a Linux client, which kind of defies the point of not relying upon Windows.
I think the CD option is going to be the way to go, but I'm still hoping that someone will come back with something else...! I haven't used find-cd.co.uk before though, so that's a boon anyway.
simple answer! Google!
with a properly crafted search string, it's dead easy to turn up an index of someone's personal webspace containing the mp3 you want.
But I want to be legal! I'm happy to pay for the music to the copyright holder - I'm just looking for a convenient and open way to do so.
ah I see...
looks like you're stuck buying CDs I'm afraid.
unless you can get one of the client programs to run under wine. obviously they'd need to download files with no DRM... :(
CDs for me,
Cor, many ways depending on what it is I want - Recently, I've turned to the debatably legal www.mp3sale.ru
as most of the tracks and albums I want are very underground or only available in the states, so I steer clear of P2P software like limewire and cut a halfway mark!
Hi Kouros,
Thanks for visiting my site. I like your blog. Looks like you have been blogging a long time. I like that you talk about these types of issues. I do have music mp3s and have that concern converting over to linux. I hope someone is able to get you the answer you are looking for.
CHeers!
